2014 Staff Leave Planner Excel Template (GPLv3)

We’re well into September so it is time to release the 2014 staff leave planner excel template.

(the download link is below)

Here’s all the new features I added to the template:

* Introduced the TOIL column – you can add TOIL days per employee.
This number will not change the allowance but will be used when calculating the remaining days
* Added totals for Holidays and Sickness per month
* Added examples to illustrated the features of the template
* Made improvements to formatting and styling to improve readability

I hope you find this template useful and in case it is too basic for you staff holiday planning needs then you may want to have a look at our advanced staff leave planner.

  1. What should we do about entering holidays across bank holidays? I notice that these entries are deducted from the ‘days left’ column. Is there a tweak we can make to a saved download?

    • Hi Anna,

Thank you for your comment. This looks like a useful suggestion which I will make sure we add to the next version.
In the meantime I have no quick answer for you but I am sure a solution is available.
If you require more advanced features I would recommend having a look at our online leave planner – it comes with lots of features and competitive pricing plans.

      Thanks,
      Plamen

  2. i was using the planner up till yesterday and now it’s not ‘working’ ; it’s not automatically calculating ; and even trying the example doesn’t seem to be either

  3. Having spent a very long time re-doing the planner yesterday; I went into it just now and although the formulas are still there its not calculating again ; WHY IS THIS? It’s very frustrating

    • Hi Adrienne,

I am sorry that the spreadsheet is not working for you and I understand it can be frustrating.
Unfortunately we are unable to reproduce the issue with the “vanilla” excel file.

Because this is a free product we are also unable to support every single case however I would be happy to look at your file in this instance.
Please get in touch via the contact form on LeaveWizard.com

      Thanks

  4. Hi, great sheet… One question, why is September 1st not included in the conditional formatting?

  5. what the possibility of being able to “add” more fields like “personal day”, “funeral”, “medical leave”, “maternity” etc?

also would it be possible for me to change the colours to our standard company colours?

    • Hi Gigi,

you could of course come up with more types of leave and add them to the spreadsheet. Under the GNU license you are free to make modifications.
You are also free to change the colours of the spreadsheet. Since the 2015 version is almost complete we may look at introducing some of your suggestion in next year’s version

      Thanks
      Plamen

  6. I love it love it love it. I have been looking for ages to find something that will do this. I was so pleased I came back here to click the donate button. But there isn’t one! Hurrah!

  7. I’ve already got people asking for time off early next year so no pressure but hope its completed soon! thanks
